Keepsakes to start for your child

My son Elliott just graduated from preschool this year and officially starts kindergarten in the fall! While I was never really sentimental after a year of daycare, this year hit different. To remember the school year, here are some things I did differently this year:

Frame the years

  • I don’t know about everyone’s school, but my son’s preschool class did a class and individual photo (professional photos!). I loved it, but I wasn’t sure how to display it. A couple of weeks later, a beautifully custom frame showed up at my house. My sister bought me a frame to showcase each photo from grades PK through senior year of high school. I can’t wait to see how my son grows, and this is such a sentimental way of capturing his growth.

Ways to save the memories

  • I purchased an Artkive Box to put all my son’s artwork from kindergarten in. If you’ve never heard of Artikive, I highly recommend taking a look! I started storing my son’s favorite artwork in a box since last fall, but wasn’t sure what to do with it. I then came across Artkive, which will professionally capture each piece of artwork to then put in a book and/or mosaic!

Something to Remember them

  • I bought a large book while at Disneyland last year and have asked my son’s educators to write a special note. Something he can look back to. I plan to continue this tradition and hand it to him once he graduates from high school.

This book was purchased at Disneyland Park in California. Another great book option is “The World Needs Who You Were Made to Be” by Joanna Gaines.
